I grew up on a lake in New Hampshire, spending my childhood exploring an island, hiking in the forests, and trekking the mountains around me; these memories are what has driven me to study environmental science at the University of New England. At UNE, I indulge a love for getting out and getting dirty in the field where I like to survey vernal pools and conduct ecological studies.I'v taken every GIS related class I can get my hands on, taking on projects to create a summary of water quality data for the Saco River Watershed. Being a creative type, GIS felt natural to me as it presents interesting data that can readily be interpreted by the public. My current GIS work with the Wells Reserve has been a brilliant experience made better by working with passionate people who share the same love for the environment and science that I do. GIS has helped me take my passion of environmental science and turn it into transferable skills. For my next endeavor, I plan to collect field data, manage the data sets, process what was collected with GIS, and then demonstrate what that data means. To me, that entire process is truly amazing!As a living, laughing human, I try to have as much fun with everything that I do in life: there’s nothing better than making someone laugh or to cheer up a friend who’s had a long day. My passions include hiking, painting, playing guitar, writing stories, and indulging in all things nerdy. When I’m working on something that I love, I am lost in it. My strengths include attention to detail and thanks to the artist in me, I am observant and driven to succeed. I’m naturally curious and love to learn new things and refine my skills, be it scholarly or my gym lifting techniques. I try to bring positivity, hard work, and joy into all of my endeavors.For me, life is great as long as there are maps to make, hard trails to hike, and things to paint!
