Founding AimabilityUpon retiring from a 15-year pro hockey career that included 198 games in the NHL and eight years in Europe, I founded Aimability Performance Health Inc., a network solution for performance and health education and service providers.Co-Founding Slip Skill TechAfter several years of coaching in the CSSHL with the Delta Hockey Academy, I co-founded Slip Skill Tech Hockey, where we design training products and hockey coaching education.Public SpeakingAs a public speaker, I have a unique story of resilience and persistence as a 7th overall NHL draft pick fighting with undiagnosed bipolar disorder for ten years of my career. The ups and downs of high expectations and my health challenges led to an extreme dislike for how hockey made me feel. Knowing I still had a love for the game deep inside, I worked my ass off to find and commit to the proper treatment and therapy that allowed a child-like love for the game to return. In my most challenging times, I could have never imagined transitioning from playing hockey to simultaneously starting a family, running two companies and coaching hockey at the professional level.

Slip Skill Tech Hockey was born out of the frustration my Co-Founder Yogi Svejkovsky and I had with lugging around DIY hockey training aids from rink to rink. After practice and struggling to pick up our DIY tools, Yogi said, "I've had this idea for years," and I said, "I know a guy." That guy was our 3rd Co-Founder, Mehdi Talwerdi, with 30 years of hardware and software engineering experience with his company Rogue Solutions Group. From there, we developed our staple product, the Fast Mag Pro, for coaches' use on the ice. Since then, we have developed a dry land version and coaching educational content currently accessible through the SST Drill Vault. Next on the Horizon is the launch of our U6-U9 (5U-8U in the U.S.) development series for the 2023-24 season. This series is a plug-and-play video book with step-by-step progressions for the inexperienced parent coach. Teaching kids at that age the proper foundation for skating in skill acquisition is one of the most challenging things to do in hockey coaching. Yogi, as the architect, has poured his 20 years of coaching experience from ages of U6-professional, equating to approximately 30,000 practices, into this series. It will be accessible on the Apple and Google Play app stores soon.

My experience training mindfulness for performance and health enhancement as an athlete inspired me to learn how to teach it as a coach. I became certified to teach mindfulness, and combined with my real-world experience as an athlete and my education in sports management; I founded Aimability to start my performance coaching career. Still, the vision from a business plan I wrote as my Master's dissertation was always to make accessible high-level professionals in many different disciplines and expertise to the mass of athletes. I realized that it wasn't just one thing or one person that helped me through my professional playing career, it was many, and as an elite athlete, I had access to the best people. I want all athletes to have access to the best people because they deserve it as much as elite athletes. So, I founded Aimability to make high-level performance and health professionals more accessible to the mass of young athletes. We needed software technology development to accomplish that. Aimability technology has become a flexible cloud computing solution and infrastructure that can be customized to fit the functional needs of health providers and sports organizations.
As a public speaker, I have a unique story of resilience and persistence as a professional hockey player struggling with undiagnosed and untreated bipolar disorder navigating the ups and downs and performance expectations of a top 10 draft pick on the bubble of being an NHL regular.
