I support the General Manager in overseeing overall operations in the store and helping to lead a team of anywhere from 20 to 30 employees. Additionally, I directly manage the book, Bible, and church supply department--which brings in the greatest amount of sales annually over any other department in the store. I also oversee weekly inventory control, product merchandising, and training of employees in that department, leading the department to consistently be one of the best in the district for overall presentation and proper inventory control. In my first year, I succeeded in cutting back overstock inventory by nearly 50%, and this last year the department reached nearly $1,000,000 in gross sales--an increase of almost $40,000 compared to the year before. My job also includes unloading & loading freight trucks, opening/closing the store, and the financial accounting and preparation of daily sales reports and bank deposits. I offer exemplary customer service and train store associates to do the same. During my time here, I have been happy to see our store go from being around 15th in the company in daily gross sales to around 4th place.
