Primary purchaser of merchandise (new and used books) for the store. This entails working with publishers, distributors, and authors on a daily basis to make sure the store is stocked with inventory, creating invoices for orders, and receiving shipments. I am also in charge of stocking the store's large outside events such as the Decatur Book Festival. Responsible for all online sales of books through the Eagle Eye Book Shop website and Amazon.com. Duties include pulling invoices and merchandise, handling the customer service end of all online orders, and textbook sales.Working directly with authors to coordinate signing events and managing crowds to insure events are run smoothly.In addition, I have several customer service and typical retail duties. Opening/closing of store, daily bank deposits, assisting with in-store customer purchases, etc.

In charge of all on-line textbook sales and shipments. My tasks included pulling invoices from online orders, packaging books for shipment, and following up with shipment companies and customers when books went missing in the mail.In addition to the online store, we also serviced two nearby colleges. I worked directly with the owners of the store in the everyday operation and running of the store which included duties such as assisting students in finding the books required for classes, keeping databases of textbooks current and up to date, including shipping back those that were not, organization and filing of invoices and other paperwork.I also had several general in-store customer service duties such as cash handling, returns, and closing/opening.

Held many positions in my tenure, starting from Customer Service Representative, followed by taking over the position of Inventory Specialist, leading to my eventual promotion to Store Manager where I was in charge of a team of up to 10 employees.My tasks at Rhino were widely varied. I gained extensive experience in many areas, including customer service, managing inventory to insure we had an accurate shrink rate, hiring and firing duties, training new employees, weekly and monthly paperwork duties (P&L reports, new hire information, etc.), and team leadership. While at Rhino, my store was named “Rhino Video Games Store of the Year” in 2002. We were also rewarded "Rhino Video Games Store of the Month” four times: October 2002, November 2003, May 2004, and August 2005. I myself was named “Rhino Video Games Employee of the Month” three times; and January 2003. I also helped with opening two other Rhino Video Games locations in Alabama and Tennessee, where I assisted in everything from construction and store setup to the hiring of a new crew.
