The report reviews the key aspects of SB 379. In particular, the stipulated compliance. mechanisms of the law and how municipalities responded. We reviewed general, climateadaptation, and local hazard mitigation plans. We identified jurisdictions that did a good job anda few that did not.- Provides technical assistance and research on climate change adaptation measures (e.g. extreme heat, flooding, wildfire, and sea-level rise) as well as climate mitigation measures.- Analyzes downscaled climate change projections and remote sensing data using R, Python, STATA, and ArcGIS to produce maps, spreadsheets, graphs, and other analytical products.- Researches the impacts of climate change on human health:In 2021, co-published a National Academy of Medicine report, Review Of The Mental Health Effects Of Wildfire Smoke, Solastalgia, And Non-Traditional Firefighters with the Deputy Director for Community Partnerships at the UCLA Center for Healthy Climate Solutions, Dr. David Eisenman, and UCLA Medical Student, May Kyaw.
