Subcontracted to conduct habitat and population assessments of eight streams in Antigonish County for the Nova Scotia Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture as part of their ten year study to examine the effect of river restoration on river health and Speckled trout populations. Responsible for all aspects of the project including budgets, hiring and supervision, public relations, data collection, and report preparation.

Responsible for setup, instruction, and evaluation of human anatomy and physiology, biodiversity, botany, cell biology labs, comparative vertebrate physiology, and ecology. Also responsible for mentoring students, course management, and assisting in curriculum development. Gave guest lectures, tutorials, and ran seminars on variety of topics for students in support of their education and for the public as an outreach initiative.Supervised an Aquatic Resources students’ senior research projects.

Designed, organized and ran the annual 1 week long field camp for senior and junior aquatic resources students. The camp instructed the students on benthic invertebrate sampling and processing, sediment sampling and processing, water sampling techniques, fish sampling/handling techniques and social survey methods.

Responsible for assisting in the maintenance of national animal care standards at St. FX and the oversight of all documentation for the St. FX Animal Care Committee.

Responsible for developing a recovery plan for the St. Mary's River salmon populations using an integrated resource management approach. Project responsibilities include budgetary planning, research, public relations, and report preparation. Also responsible for developing culvert mitigations for two culverts that were barriers to fish passage.

Oversaw a crew of four that was responsible for the installation and maintenance of in-stream structures that aid in the recovery of salmon and trout populations in the watersheds around Antigonish.Other duties included assisting with stocking efforts, keeping records of all in-stream improvements and completing end of season reports
