Department Technology Officer
CurrentManage a team of 7 IT staff.Responsible for all aspects of security, systems, network, and IT project management for the department.Information Security Officer, responsible for hardening servers as well as all aspects of network and server infrastructure security. Worked with state, federal, and local leadership to create security policies focusing on a balance of security and usability.Project manager responsible for the planning and deployment of a Cisco Unified Communications infrastructure including 300+ VOIP nodes and 50 WiFi APs spread among two campuses.Responsible for the deployment, provisioning, and management of over a dozen SANs from multiple vendors.Primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Army National Guard Distributed Learning Program (DLP). This required travel to many remote armories (approximately 30 times a year) to bring a failing program back into compliance, utilizing both technical and soft skills to encourage cooperation from military and civilian personnel.I maintain an active Secret security clearance as well as meeting DOD-8570 Level III.Primary contact for all phases of IT project implementation. Starting with initial solution research, continuing to engage selected vendors for pilots and tuning, then assessing ROI based on tangible cost savings to the department, until finally training staff to take over daily maintenance duties.
