Moving into this position allowed me to further bring together all the skills I've built to this point in my career as well as add new ones. In addition to quality assurance, business analysis, and user acceptance testing (UAT), I moved into a more formal leadership role. From observing my upper management over my career, I formulated many ideas about what it takes to be an effective leader. My team consists of both junior and senior QA professionals, and so my approach varies depending on their capabilities. Regardless, I never lose sight of the end goal and adjust the strategy as necessary to meet deadlines. Throughout the process I make sure the client knows they remain a priority, and apply product and software knowledge to give them the highest quality end product. As I grow within this company and my career, I look to expand by taking a more active role in the development process, as I believe this would make me even more well-rounded and give me the opportunity to add more value to my team.

Leveraging my previous experience working with Medicaid fraud and abuse detection, I took this role to implement QA measures for a public assistance fraud analytics system. Working in conjunction with the business analysis team, we designed processes to improve efficiency and data management and retrieval. Because of my knowledge of Medicaid, I was assigned to perform QA on the largest Medicaid program analytics implementation in the country. I gathered the information necessary, synthesized it, and ensured it accomplished the goal.After mastering the main responsibilities in this position, I received a promotion to my next place within this company.

Initially I began working for this organization as a Senior Human Services Program Specialist. After demonstrating my ability to detect and resolve audits, with an in depth understanding of the lifecycle of the audit process, I moved into this role. Here I expanded my abilities for QA and business analysis through implementing vendor software programs which aided in more effective and efficient fraud detection.My efforts resulted in large-caliber projects which were implemented across the state. My years working in healthcare administration and software quality assurance prepared me to move forward to my next role and company, taking and applying the skills learned to new settings and projects.

In this role, I focused on increasing my knowledge of Medicaid programs and the fraud / abuse detection and resolution process. A large part of my ability to see success came through developing relationships with the different providers. The process required ongoing, proactive communication of the audit status, which worked to allay their fears through being informed. Due to the high volume of data required, I became extremely efficient and adept at using Excel spreadsheets and merge functions to keep information easily accessible.I also began to prepare and present oral arguments during administrative hearings which defended the process and the program's integrity. This was built on my foundation of knowledge of the program, the system, and its policies and procedures. As a result, it was my honor to assist in detecting fraud, abuse, and waste in the system, then address it through our protocols to resolve the issues.
