Lead efforts on anti-jamming and navigation technologies start-up. Provided end-to-end support for all development activities related to company focus. Developed approach for implementing wideband jammer cancellation for use in UAV platforms. Implemented MATLAB model for predicting cancellation performance that were validated through bench testing. Performed RF system design with component analysis and selection. Performed schematic capture and PCB layout of prototype boards in Altium Designer. Managed PCB assembly and executed testing and validation on digital/analog control systems and RF paths using benchtop testing as well as anechoic chamber testing. Carried out extensive physical analysis of magnetic-based velocity sensing concept. Managed outside contractors and coordinated with external partners. Set-up electronics lab and RF testing capabilities from scratch.

Worked on the development of short to medium range flash lidar systems for automotive and autonomous vehicle applications. Established system testing capabilities and practices for measuring far-field mapping of flash lidar emitters, measurements of peak optical power output, assessing optical waveform quality, and diagnosing system electrical deficiencies. Designed and executed system characterization for assessing range accuracy and performance against various target types and environmental conditions. Participated in system design and performed PCB layout for subsystem testing and prototyping. Developed processing and filtering approaches on point cloud data to remove empty space data points, sensor saturation effects, and mitigate range ambiguity issues in MATLAB. Presented assessments to engineering team and contractors to further system design and development cycle activities.

Lead research activities in support of developing and testing fuel cell technologies. Established research laboratory from the ground up in a budgetary conscious manner and within established timeframe. This included acquisition of equipment, outfitting facility infrastructure, identifying facility layout, and management of staff. Personally oversaw selection, delivery, installation, and training of RF measurement equipment, Zeiss Sigma 300 electron microscopy, Envisiontech Ultra 3SP stereolithographic 3D printer, and material processing equipment.Researched and implemented anode electroplating process in support of fuel cell research activities. This included establishing an electropolishing process and corresponding electroplating procedures that yielded robust coatings capable of surviving harsh electrochemical environment during fuel cell operation. Developed and documented anode processing procedures and trained junior level staff. Delegated and oversaw junior staff member activities of expanding electroplating process. Developed capabilities for fuel cell cathode fabrication that included high temperature vacuum annealing and chemical etch processes. Designed and implemented testing equipment in support of research objectives that include electrical power measurements, closed system sample capture, emission spectroscopy analysis, and Raman spectroscopy. Designed dynamic fuel cell fixtures using OnShape CAD software and prototyped physical designs using onsite 3D printer.Compiled test results into PowerPoint presentations and presented to investors. Provided technical tours during technology demonstrations to investors and scientific visitors.

Lead Systems Engineer and Project Engineer for developing advanced electronic support measures (ESM) system for Virginia class submarines. Generated design requirements from customer specifications, designed overall system architecture, provided system updates and improvements, and implemented changes in system design/architecture to accommodate customer requests. Participated in design reviews and information exchanges with customer representatives. This includes action item reviews as well as on-site meetings to obtain customer feedback on installation, integration, system layout, and subsystem reviews. Provided technical oversight and review for subcontractor activities pertaining to the design and development of the system hardware. Assisted in development of work schedules and ROMs pertaining to program activities and compiling schedule and cost ROMs. Implemented signal processing and control algorithms in support of program objectives. Developed MATLAB model for predicting performance and validating hardware operation for an active towed array system. Results were compared to waveforms generated from hardware and used to tune system and isolate waveform output issues. Designed and developed deinterleaver code in MATLAB for electronic warefare systems for rapid processing of large data sets using improved PRI transform and clustering algorithms. Developed and implemented elevation control for mast control system. Supported customer demonstrations and integration efforts.Engaged in company business development activities. Wrote SBIR/STTR proposals and lead the team providing the electronic warefare section of a major business proposal. Worked internally and with subcontractor partner to provide a 100% compliant solution. Proposal duties included developing section outlines, making writing assignments, graphics layouts, and organizing/providing proposal content with other team members.

My tenure at RTI spanned over seven years and involved research and development of sensors systems, signal processing and data analysis for high-risk and unconventional electronic warfare applications. I made significant contributions to projects pertaining to nontraditional collection of signatures, electronics module creation for a handheld radiation monitor training simulator, and development of microwave sensor electronics for unintentional radiated emissions. My work with the microwave sensor electronics involved sub nanosecond timing accuracy requirements that resulted in a new, proprietary detection scheme. Additionally, I held a major role in supporting and leading proposals directed toward external funding sources. My skills include device and sub-system design and prototyping, RF system design and development, electromagnetic modeling, data acquisition and complex data analysis routines. Relevant computer experience includes C, Mathematica, MatLab, and Labview.

I conducted research via Raman and Photoluminescence spectroscopy to investigate the properties of diluted magnetic semiconductors, such as ZnMnO and GaMnAs. During these studies, I extended his knowledge of Photoluminescence and Raman spectroscopy to wide band gap semiconductors and utilized theoretical models to guide analysis of experimental data. During his time at Chapel Hill, I made noteworthy updates and improvements to existing optical measurements systems. A trip to Argonne National lab was arranged to perform cryogenic Raman measurements to investigate spin wave (magnon) scattering from diluted magnetic semiconductor materials.

During my time at Clemson University, I performed research in synthesis of various nanomaterials; such as carbon nanotubes, nanowires, and nanobelts; using the Arc discharge technique, chemical vapor deposition, and pulsed laser vaporization. Additionally, I carried out characterization of materials by various methods, including Raman and IR spectroscopy, Field emission scanning electron microscopy, and Photoluminescence spectroscopy. Highlights of my research activities include synthesis and Raman characterization of substitutionally boron doped single walled carbon nanotubes and optical studies of widebandgap transparent semiconducting oxide nanobelts. Other activities I was involved include preparations of letters and papers concerning research for publications; directing research projects in-house, as well as collaborations with outside parties; oral presentations of information gathered through researching materials; designing and maintaining custom lab equipment; and training junior students in the use of lab equipment for research projects.
