Providing EOD & Search support to 16 Air Assault Brigade and 4 Commando Brigade while also providing EOD & Search support and training to numerous allied countries such as Nigeria, Tunisia, Egypt and Iceland amongst others.

Providing advanced search assistance to PSNI in numerous areas of high assurance and high threat search. Working alongside UK Home Office Police Forces and MOD Explosive Ordnance Disposal teams, to provide High Assurance Search of venues, vehicles,areas, dwellings, routes and persons using both covert and overt methods to ensure that these areas are free from propaganda, weapons, explosive devices,and their constituent parts to ensure the safety of the public, security forces and VVIPS (Royalty, Foreign and Domestic Dignitaries and MPs etc.)

Combat Engineering is the generic term given to the military techniques and procedures used primarily - but not exclusively - on the battlefield, by the Royal Engineers. This expertise is common to all Sappers and provides the foundation skills and knowledge used on all engineering tasks. Combat Engineering forms the cornerstone of Royal Engineers capability, allowing “The Sappers” to deliver highly flexible and effective engineering solutions in the most challenging environments. More generally speaking, the role of the combat engineer involves facilitating movement and support to friendly forces while impeding that of the enemy.Areas of expertise are summarised as follows:Basic Field Engineering - Knots & lashings, field machines, basic structures, hand & power tools, construction techniques.Water Supply - The production and distribution of potable water.Demolitions - The practical use of explosives offensively and defensively as well as providing battlefield effects.Force Protection - The construction of protective structures and defensive obstacles. Watermanship - The safe operation of military assault craft and outboard motors.Mine Warfare - The locating and clearance of explosive devices and the practical and theoretical deployment of same devices.Bridging - The construction of purpose made and improvised bridges to overcome wet and dry gap obstacles.
