When there is an opportunity to better the lives and well beings of others, sign me up for the occasion. Attending the school of Indiana University while studying entrepreneurship at the Kelley school of business, I’ve learned and put forth my knowledge to cultivate skills that make me a skilled leader, interpersonal communicator, and cohesive team member affluent. Skilled leader: I currently work as an 18u baseball coach. In the past, I’ve worked as a swimming instructor for special needs children and a part of a mentor program for underclassmen in high school. This past summer an accomplishment that prevailed in my leadership role would have to be when as a team we weren’t the best team vocally and the team was very distant. However, after putting the guys through a drill to help them bond and truly open up to each other, I lead them to conquer that fear and hesitancy towards each other, which in all got the team not only winning but communicating as a winning team should. Interpersonal Communicator: Communication is a skill that’s required everywhere in life. Working with lower classmen, it was necessary to explain as extensively as possible to make sure they understood the points that were trying to be made in the first place. I currently work as a front desk associate as well at a training facility where customers are constantly trying to create lesson plans and there are situations to make sure the customer is satisfied regardless of the situation. Situations on and off the phone that need not only patience but communication skills to keep them interested in the company as well as what you’re trying to offer them to purchase.Cohesive team member affluent: Throughout my experiences beginning in grade school all the way to Indiana University, I have cultivated skills towards what it takes and what it means to be a team member. Being a part of two varsity sports in high school I learned not only to put others’ needs and desires above my own at times but to get the job done at its fullest most successful potential to get the job done.
