I started building computers, then programming and eventually building large applied AI systems for business and the US Navy (USS Carl Vinson) at Carnegie Mellon. During my career at IBM I led the decision to enter the AI software market broadly in 1987 including product plans, market development programming and very large account sales in transportation and financial services including American Airlines (flight planning) and American Express (credit authorization). After gathering an MBA in Finance at NYU Stern I crossed over to Wall Street doing Equity Research with a speciality in technology. Before leaving the industry in 2004 I was running all equity research at SoundView and did one last stint at Adams Harness (acquired by Canaccord.)Since then I have continued to leverage my experience in advanced software, applied AI and capital markets to assist in launching new companies, building institutional research and information business and run our Family Office (Blue Caterpillar) as the chief investment officer.
