About the Clinic:Founded in 1981, the Clinic provides free legal services to low income persons throughout the counties of Simcoe and Haliburton and the City of Kawartha Lakes, an area of over 12,000 square kilometres. The Clinic is a charitable corporation funded by Legal Aid Ontario and governed by a 13 member Board of Directors.Mission Statement: To advocate for social justice, build stronger communities, and alleviate poverty through the practice of law.Legal Aid Ontario Vision:1. To promote access to justice throughout Ontario for low-income individuals by providing high quality legal aid services.2. To encourage and facilitate flexibility and innovation in the provision of legal aid services.3. To recognize the diverse legal needs of low-income individuals and disadvantaged communities.4. To operate within a framework of accountability for the expenditure of public funds.

• Facilitated access to justice for low income students and families in Kingston, ON.• Conducted intake interviews and proposed plans of action to review counsel.• Prepared applications and appeal materials for the LTB, CICB, and SBT.

• Led membership recruitment of local businesses in Simcoe County.• Sourced new strategic partnerships to promote members.
