Kristy joined Preti Flaherty’s Business Law Group in 2007. She utilizes her significant experience advising a variety of corporate clients with operations around the globe by identifying areas of risk and potential conflict and then carefully crafting contracts to navigate those risks to help her clients achieve their business objectives. For many business clients, Kristy serves in a general counsel role, coordinating with subject matter specialists within Preti and in other states and countries as client needs require.Kristy was born and raised in Bangor Maine and attended undergrad at Western New England University in Springfield, Massachusetts followed by the University of Maine School of Law, in Portland Maine, where she served as the research editor for the Maine Law Review. After starting the practice of law in her home town for the first 3 years of her career, Kristy continued her education while working full time and obtained a Master’s Degree in Taxation from Bentley University. Since joining Preti, Kristy has served on the firm's Diversity Committee as its co-chair, and has also previously served as the Chair of the Business Law Group. Kristy is committed to the greater Portland community and served on the board of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Maine from 2008-2016, and as its Board President from 2013-2015.
