Currently serving as a 2nd grade teacher in Chicago Public Schools. I plan and implement 2nd grade literacy, math, and science lessons. I worked to build relationships with students through Morning Meetings and culturally relevant topics. I established classroom routines and procedures to create a safe, structured learning environment. I utilize NWEA and BAS data to create targeted small groups in literacy and math. I participate in a variety of literacy, math, science, and socio-emotional learning professional development opportunities. I collaborate with colleagues, administration, and instructional coaches often to improve instruction. I strive to create trusting relationships with parents through phone calls and community outreach.

Worked with a mentor teacher to gain in-depth authentic teaching experience. Engaged in daily meeting centered on improving teaching practice. Completed 3 full classroom takeover experiences for a total of 5 weeks.
