I ran both solo & group classes for up to 6 students per group. To make good performers you need to be able to build confidence. I pride myself on creating not just talented performers but also confident, self aware people who were able to set & complete goals. Event Planning & Management: 3 live performances for up to 30 students each year. Each performance had a lead up of 3 months with the first of the performances in April of each year. Large scale venues were used including Red Bennies, The Cabaret Room & Encore Theatre. It was a large part of my role as director to plan & organise these events from start to finish including auditioning & selection of performers, venue booking & payment, stage setup & hiring of sound & lighting professionals. Recruitment: As the business grew it needed more teachers to teach the new students. A 3 step recruitment process was used when hiring new teachers. Short phone interviews, face to face interviews & finally a vocal audition for the final candidates. Small Business Accounting: Having 3 teachers working at the school, it was imperative to make sure payroll data was up to date so wages could be paid on time. I developed excel spreadsheets to make taking payments easier & allowing for quick auditing of student attendance. I have also gained a basic understanding of MYOB small business software. Marketing: Successful business' have clients. I designed all printed marketing material (flyers, newsletters, logos and letterheads.) I developed templates for making this task easier, templates were reviewed & updated as required. I have worked with artists & sign writers to enhance the visual presence of building facades, event ticketing & general marketing material. Show less
