My research in India and Asia spans 26 years focusing on human dimensions of wildlife conservation. I serve as the CEO at Centre for Wildlife Studies, Adjunct Associate Professor at Duke University.I have a Ph.D from Duke, M.E.Sc from Yale, and B.S & B.A degrees from the University of Florida. I have completed executive education programs at Harvard, Oxford and Stanford. I have conducted interdisciplinary research assessing species distributions and extinctions, impacts of wildlife tourism, consequences of voluntary resettlement, land use change and understanding human-wildlife interactions resulting in 125+ scientific publications and popular articles. I have served as editor for Conservation Biology, Conservation Letters and Human Dimensions do Wildlife. I am currently Chief Editor for Frontiers in Ecology and Environment- Conservation Section. I have been lucky to mentor over 300 young scientists and artists and engaged 750 citizen science volunteers in my projects.My work has been featured by > 500 international media outlets.
