After completing my BS in Nuclear Medicine Technology and obtaining my certification as both a a CT and nuclear medicine tech in 2016, I began working at Brookwood Baptist Health. I have experience in cardiac and general nuclear medicine, PET/CT, and diagnostic CT. Most of my experience has been in a hospital setting but I have also had some experience in a cardiology clinic. I thoroughly enjoy my chosen career. I have the opportunity to help someone in their healing process everyday whether it be with a warm blanket around a patient’s shoulders or a warm smile in the hallway. These may seem insignificant to many but when you are not feeling well, the smallest gestures make a hospital stay more bearable.At the end of 2017, my mentor and I had the honor of having our research published in the Journal of Nuclear Medicine Technology. Our research included radioactive items that can be found in the home. It was an interesting topic to explore seeing as we are exposed to radiation on a daily basis whether from the sun or other man-made sources.
