Lawyers’ bios often read like superhero descriptions. Mine did before this. I agree our work can be heroic, but I understand it’s never ME who’s the hero — it’s my clients, and their story that gets fair relief. They’ve been through a lot and deserve a lot. Plus, I’m no hero. I’m a husband, dad and THEN I’m a lawyer. I don’t care about the accolades, I’m just grateful for my clients' trust. Besides, my success isn’t mine. It comes from God and, in these cases, belongs to the clients. I was a civil defense lawyer for a while. I didn’t really enjoy it. Felt aimless. Some of the best people I’ve ever known as colleagues, but I prefer clients living real experiences, with real problems (folks who are victim to serious injury or wrongful death). I get to use what I learned on that side to help the folks I now represent. I believe in the 7th Amendment right of trial by jury, fairness and, above all, fighting the good fight. I’m curious. I’m a nerd. I’m passionate. I’m tenacious. I want to win. And I enjoy being the biggest cheerleader when others win, too. I attribute all of that to my background in football honed by my career playing linebacker while a student at Georgia Tech. I don’t want to be like every other lawyer, because I’m not every other lawyer. I litigate and try cases nationwide; though I’m licensed in D.C., Florida, and Georgia. Negligent/Inadequate Security cases are my bread and butter, but I’m also regarded for handling the “really weird injury” cases, and any other kind of catastrophic injury or wrongful death case.
