There’s so much I don’t know.I didn’t know what to do with that home computer I got for Christmas. It didn’t have a disk drive and could only run BASIC. So I learned coding to get something out of it. And then more coding languages, and code quality, and SDKs and APIs, and software engineering and Agile.And I didn’t know how to be successful at stuff when I finished school with only one A grade — maths. So I studied maths, and did a PhD, and went on to research maths and computer science, and became a professor and taught others what I learned, and published a hundred papers and patents, and traveled the globe to speak at conferences.But then I didn’t know how to apply all that stuff to the real world. So I left academia, and ran innovation projects in tech, and learned about LEAN and Kaizen and product management. And I couldn’t do it all myself so I learned leadership and helping a team succeed.But then I wasn’t smart enough to have all the ideas myself. So I built spaces and hackathons where anyone could be brilliant and innovative. And I traveled the globe to help people voice their best ideas and be heard.But then I only understood tech and didn’t know business. So I spent a year getting an EMBA and learn about markets, elasticity, pricing, blue oceans, marketing, and accounting.But then I knew business theory with no clue how to apply it. So I joined a negotiation consultancy and learned about FMCG and procurement and commercial deals, and negotiation behaviour and tactics, and strategy. And I helped people who understand business better than product to do things right, and to ask the right questions.And now... What’s next that I don’t know? Tell me! I hope it’s exciting!
