CurrentIn March 2022, I was announced as a Faculty Innovation Fellow by Stanford University's d.school. Over a period of two years, I was mentored by the d.school team and a global community of practice. My Project, "Making Entrepreneurial Mindfulness a Thing," resulted in my book The Mindful Startup and various mindfulness services specifically tailored to the needs of changemakers. The Faculty Innovation Fellows Program is a two-year experience designed to help faculty and staff expand the innovation and entrepreneurship movement at their schools. Faculty Innovation Fellows work both in collaboration with their student University Innovation Fellows and on their own to design ways to improve their institutions. They connect with a community of like-minded educators from around the world to advance projects, gather feedback, and share what they learn.

This global program trains student leaders to create new opportunities for their peers to engage with innovation, entrepreneurship, design thinking and creativity. Faculty champions collaborate with the d.school team to support the students in their endeavor to establish sustainable changes in the university ecosystem and guide them through the design thinking process. As a UIF champion I am a supportive participant in the development process for fellows - my role extends beyond advising and guiding. I actively contribute to the success of the student innovators I support. Champions assist the fellows and candidates in constructing their landscape canvas and developing plans for achieving their individual goals as well as contributing to the projects identified by the leadership circle.Furthermore, I am actively driving international collaboration between mentors as well as fellows, in order to support the long term success of the program.

First of all, the analysis of specific market segments, new as well as existing competitors and the company’s product portfolio revealed a need for significant business model redesign. Thus, the first goal is the development of a new product family, which is integrated in a specifically designed business model. Furthermore, the company’s long-term strategy strives to integrate a respective innovation approach for all affected business units. This requires the outcome of goal two, the documentation of a suitable innovation process. Finally, the project provides a rich steam of insights to investigate the right mindset for successful innovation.
