Intelligence AnalystEnvironment And Climate Change Canada Nov 2022 - PresentCurrently, as an intelligence analyst working in the Strategic Intelligence and Risk Assessment Division at the Enforcement Branch of ECCC, I am leading an Operational Intelligence Assessment (OIA) on the Wastewater Systems and Effluent Regulations (WSER). The objective of this project is to risk rank wastewater treatment facilities subject to the WSER through the development and use of non-compliance indicators. Typical tasks include: data collection, data analysis by using SQL, pandas, NumPy, and matplotlib in python, consulting with internal stakeholders and partners, presenting the project methodology and non-compliance indicators to the WSER working group, and reviewing and analyzing previous enforcement projects related to the WSER. Other responsibilities include completing findings and analysis reports for national enforcement projects, co-leading student hiring, student supervision, and supporting the team with other as hoc tasks as needed. -

To write this program, I used the PyPDF2 library as well the os module and regular expression in python. I also demonstrated data analysis skills in python by completing a component of a pollution threat risk assessment resulting in significant forward progress on a major analysis project. Other tasks included conducting literature research to identify threats posed by toxic substances and summarizing research as one-pagers to better inform internal and external stakeholders and project decision makers. -
