When a person with developmental disabilities goes into crisis is transported to the hospital, I am called out, along with a counselor and another client support worker, to travel to the location, talk with the person in crisis or the person that brought them in, determine if the person is still in crisis, and gather information so the counselor can decide if the client should be transported to a crisis home, admitted to the hospital, or sent home, if the home provider wants the client back in the home.

Continuing a project that I began in my undergraduate program at Georgia Southern, I am collaborating with Magnolia Coastlands AHEC to collect quality of life items for migrant farmworkers who will be in southeast Georgia in spring 2014. The presentation examined the association between physical activity and alcohol use in college students using American College Health Association data.

Created bilingual cards on hydration information for migrant farmworker clinics, collected quality of life items for those clinics, received a grant to fund quality of life items, created and presented a health careers presentation for a high school class, assisted with Embracing Diversity in the Healthcare Workforce webinar, wrote thank you letters and hosted a class for Public Health for Young Adults day hosted on Georgia Southern University's campus.
