Wildfire Network promotes firefighter safety, vocational job and business creation, and youth education in pursuit of community wildfire resiliency. We guide wildland and prescribed fire training in a focused and safety minded manner, train and mentor youth in forest health, wildfire mitigation and safe firefighting techniques, educate K-12 students on natural fire processes within their environment and aid communities in obtaining needed assistance with wildfire risk reduction and property stewardship. An honor to serve on the panel that distributes Collaborative Forest Restoration Program funds to projects across NM.Since 2001 the Collaborative Forest Restoration Program (CFRP) has funded 166 projects including close to 500 partners in planning and implementing collaborative forest restoration and small diameter utilization projects in 20 counties across New Mexico. These projects have restored over 30,000 acres and created over 700 jobs.

The WRTC and FLN will convene national workshops, aggregate learning, and share across regions and with Forest Service program leaders, FAC Coalition members and other partners to aid in adapting programs and strategies over time. Thesecollective efforts will promote collaboration among local, state, tribal, and federal partners at the community level and beyond, creating a multi‐scalar network.
