Krystal Jasmin Combs holds a Master of Science in Education from Mt. St. Mary’s University with a concentration in teacher leadership and curriculum development. She holds a CA Clear teaching credential for grades K-8 and is completing her single subject credential in English Language Arts. Krystal has taught general studies at prestigious Curtis School in Los Angeles, with experience at multiple grade levels including 6th, 5th, 3rd, 2nd, and Kindergarten. In addition to her classroom pedagogical skills, Krystal has been performing, choreographing, directing, and teaching dance and musical theater and arts education for children and adult professionals across Los Angeles for over 15 years. She is an NAACP Best Choreography Award Winner (2012), along the likes of nominees Debbie Allen and Bill T. Jones. She has received Stage Scene L.A. awards for her choreography & performance work and was titled “Quadruple Threat of the Year” (2011) by the acclaimed critics group. She has worked for MTV networks, national concert tours, music videos, various charities and local theaters and schools, including at Crossroads School, Valley Beth Shalom, Paul Revere Middle School, Lincoln Middle School, The Adderley School for Performing Arts, and the American Alliance for Theatre and Education award winning YES program at the Morgan Wixson Theater in Santa Monica. Krystal is a fluent Spanish speaker, is dedicated to diversity, equity, and inclusion mission-driven work, is a strong leader and collaborator, and is an extraordinarily effective and creative teacher with a wide variety of skill sets and passions.
