As the Director of the Gladwin County Department of Veterans Affairs, I administer a comprehensive array of benefit programs and provide assistance and advocacy pertaining to claims relating to veterans and their dependents in the most expeditious manner. These benefits include those provided by federal, state, and local I oversee the application process and submittal of various Veterans Affairs benefits to include: service connected compensation, non-service connected pension, burial allowances, vocational and rehabilitation training, educational benefits, insurance, tax exemptions, emergency assistance, paralyzed and blind veteran’s pension, specialized veteran’s license plates, flag holders and headstones.I oversee the development, planning, and implementation of comprehensive services and programs that support the success of individual veterans, and for veteran's dependents who are eligible for veteran's benefitsSome responsibility include:Managing the Department budget, provide grant oversight, and lead strategic planning efforts.Overseeing the Veterans Work Study Program and ensure compliance with VA policies and procedures Hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating VSO staff.Developing and reviewing department policies and procedures. Implement improvements as needed

Managed 30 personnel in the repair and maintenance of 13 P-3C aircraft. Planned and scheduled maintenance (including offsite major re-work and overhaul) and oversaw the safe loading and expenditure of over 218,000 tons of live and inert ordnance. Served as a quality inspector in 13 different operating dynamics abroad to include Europe, Asia and the Middle East.Tracked and scheduled High-Time Components replacements and conducted aircraft inspections. Informed relevant team members on aircraft status and readiness. Organized and conducted training; exercised leadership and motivational techniques towards work center personnel. KEY CONTRIBUTIONS & ACCOMPLISHMENTS:**Created and implemented short-term and long-range maintenance plans to maximize asset availability, leading to 74% increase in Full Mission Capable Status aircraft. **While detached to Ali Air Base, Iraq, launched and recovered 125 missions in direct support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. A keen attention to detail resulted in the discovery of four major discrepancies during final inspections that prevented catastrophic mishaps.**As Quality Assurance Supervisor for 3 divisions; trained and qualified 60 personnel in FAA Airfield Safety course, keying a 99% command qualification rate.

Plane Captain for F/A-18A-F, flawlessly prepared, launched and recovered a total of over 450 missions with zero discrepancies resulting in the training and qualification of over 100 fleet pilots. Contributed to the safe loading and expenditure of 112,000 tons of live and inert ordnance. KEY CONTRIBUTIONS & ACCOMPLISHMENTS:**Was a member of the Conventional Weapons Technical Proficiency Inspection. Received an unprecedented grade of 98.8%**Diligently managed and maintained over 1200 pieces of Armament Weapons Support Equipment, totaling over 2.3 million dollars. **Reviewed and submitted requisitions for over 1500 tons of live, inert and auxiliary munitions.

Directly responsible for the development, job performance and safety of 56 Navy and Marine Corps personnel. Managed and coordinated teams during uploading and downloading of ordnance in support of daily operations for 46 aircraft across 4 different platforms. Efforts directly resulted in the completion of over 11,500 maintenance actions and a 99% mission completion rate and well as an 85% increase in productivity and qualifications. KEY CONTRIBUTIONS & ACCOMPLISHMENTS:**Coordinated 6 successful detachments including 3 emergency detachments to various locations across the United States, which consisted of over 50 ordnance personnel and an estimated 7 million dollars in assets. Oversaw detachment logistics, including personnel, transportation, and resources.**Vigorous efforts led to the work center to a grade of "outstanding" in all notable criteria during "Commander Naval Air Forces" and aircraft maintenance inspections for F/A-18 A-F, F-16 and SH-60.**As a CPR instructor for the American Heart Association established and utilized a Command CPR program that contributed to the training and qualification of over 250 sailors, as well as civilian personnel.

Held full responsibility for managing 30 team members in repair/ maintenance of 13 P-3C aircraft.
