I’m a preservice teacher, finishing my degree through UCalgary. I’m focused on enabling all children to learn to their highest abilities through fun, engaging and active learning. Formative and summative assessment are balanced and used to optimize interest and guide lessons as well as interventions as required. Today’s complex classrooms also require a teacher who is understanding of personal circumstances and not only celebrates diverse learners, but includes them in every aspect of the classroom, including instruction. I’m also very excited to learn more about Indigenous education, in particular their culture, heritage and the way in which these communities traditionally learn and share knowledge.
