• Directly oversees Cell Culture and Preliminary Research Experiment Teams primarily focusing on enzyme induction and drug transport cellular based assays for contract study research• Responsible for production and revenue goals, ensuring adherence to company quality standards and timelines through scheduling and resource planning to produce effective and efficient teams• Accomplishes work assigned to the department through delegation, performance management, planning, and ensuring staff accountability by managing the performance and activities of direct reports • Maintains working knowledge of departmental scientific discipline to provide appropriate guidance and support to staff. Takes responsibility for troubleshooting to remove roadblocks to completion of projects, including training, process and equipment issues. Provides scientific training, guidance and support on technical area(s) of expertise• Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving concerns, reviewing/approving weekly timesheets and time-off requests, providing regular feedback, completing performance evaluations and promotion forms, and setting annual goals for individuals and teams.

Responsible for interviewing, hiring, performance management, and goal setting for employees within the Cell Culture and Preliminary Research Experiment teams (7 direct reports total)Oversees and creates scheduling for the Preliminary Research and Cell Culture team to ensure studies are conducted in accordance with sponsor deadlines and meet monthly revenue targetsTroubleshoots assay and equipment issues relating to enzyme induction, drug transport, and cell culture servicesAssists with protocol development to ensure clients’ custom requests can be accommodated with current laboratory proceduresLeads various projects for improvement and efficiencyCurrent projects include:• Conversion from paper documentation to an electronic notebook system • Creation and development of the Preliminary Research Experiment Team• Research and development on new laboratory software and equipment to incorporate automation for various assays to improve accuracy and time-efficiency

Responsibilities same as Scientist II, in addition to performing scheduling and training for the primary and immortalized cell culture labs. Monitoring the daily activities of the cell culture team, while ensuring adherence to good laboratory practices (GLP) and standard operating procedures (SOP).

Lead analyst for the primary hepatocyte cell culture laboratory. Manages scheduling and inventory, conducts training, and reviews all assay packets for enzymatic induction team.

Performs custom culture-based assays, along with additional responsibilities for training laboratory analysts, and created/updating various laboratory and equipment standard operating procedures.

Conducts research by performing culture-based biochemical assays and in vitro incubation of drugs while following Good Lab Practice
