Lead Research Focus: In-depth characterization of the tumor microenvironment of pancreatic cancer and metastatic sites. Performed cutting edge multiplex immunofluorescence techniques, digital pathology and classical histology, to characterize hundreds of cell types within the tumor while preserving their spatial data. Developed pipeline to analyze massive data output and assisted in developing multiple AIs to streamline image analysis. Used these techniques to study the primary and metastatic microenvironments in pancreatic cancer, the microenvironment of thyroid cancer, bacterial invasion into the tumor among others.

Selected to act as student representative on university pandemic response committee. Worked with heads of university to organize response to the COVID19 pandemic, including helping to determine, university communication, classroom reopening, and vaccine distribution to the student body

Selected to act as the student representative on the search committee for the next director of Fred and Pamela Buffett Cancer Center. Reviewed in depth applications and performed in person and video interviews of current leaders in cancer research to identify the best candidate. Participated in selection process for review by the Chancellor

Lead Research Focus: Computational modeling of cell signaling pathways. Built a Boolean model of HIV infecting a macrophage cell with over 1000 nodes that recapitulated the human disease. Also created smaller models of cancer cell proliferation and malaria infection and taught modeling to undergraduates and high school students.

Optimized technique for measuring potential inhibitors of protein-protein interactions in a high throughput manner that was then used to study RAD52 interactions. Grew and purified proteins using AKTA and other chromatography techniques for further study. Performed laboratory maintenance.
