“It’s not about you, it’s about how you make people feel about themselves,” is the mantra that anchors my leadership experiences. I’m curious about people and strive to integrate each piece of our collective experience into the lives we live. As I’ve navigated the murder of my brother, BJ, by the Inglewood Police Department in 2019 and bring my whole-Black/multiracial womxn-self to the work I do, I believe sharing my story fosters the vulnerability, empathy and compassion we all deserve to be met with in our one-of-one experiences. Whether we’re in an office, volunteering in the community, or deep in kerning text, my priority is to ensure the folx I work with are nurtured in an environment of safety, equity, and access. We all belong.I lean into creative problem-solving, am flexible in the ebb & flow of everyday (sometimes tedious!) processes, and haven’t met a spreadsheet I didn’t (learn to) like. My most meaningful work is done by being a resource- and people- connector with abilities to work collaboratively or autonomously—with a question (or two) along the way. I’d be delighted to connect about supporting operations, volunteering, or leadership (and especially welcome messages that swoon over poetry or might like to swap guac recipes).
