As Care Support Specialist, I served as a catalyst for helping Aspire achieve its mission: “to develop the nation’s leading network of specialized physician practices that provides the highest quality medical, emotional, and spiritual support to patients and families facing a serious illness”. I worked directly with enrolled program participants to confirm appointment times, educate, and gather information from patients, and worked to optimize route scheduling for our field-based clinical colleagues. Demonstrating compassion for individual needs, attention to detail, and collaborating with other colleagues are critical for successful execution of this role. Each day, my goal was to help the patients and their loved ones in any way that I could: emotionally and physically. This included identifying patients’ issues, anticipating future needs, providing additional information, and building the relationship between the patient and Aspire; it also included aiding in the training and education of my fellow teammates. I had been at the restaurant long enough and gained enough knowledge to be able to train new employees and also be catering team leader for some catering events. Customer service was a key element in my job; I always enjoyed keeping my customers happy. Each shift, I was required to meet a sales goal and sell as many UFO club memberships as possible. Sometimes, there would be a competition where the restaurant staff would be split into teams. Each manager was appointed as a team leader and servers were evenly and fairly distributed onto each team. Usually, the competition goal is who can sell the most beer from a chosen brewery in a certain amount of time. The winners' prize is most likely traveling to that brewery and spending a few days in that city. Working at Flying Saucer also required me to learn of the 230+ beers we had available and recommending beer to customers based on their preferences. This job taught me about teamwork, sales, exceptional customer service, and a passion for craft beer! I had fun, created lifelong friendships, worked really hard and learned a whole lot.

Being a veterinary assistant is a very daunting task. There are several things I was responsible for. I would assist the veterinarian during check-ups by assisting in any tests the pet would be receiving, assist in taking blood, administer medications, clip nails, administer flea baths/chemical dips, express anal glands, and clean ears. I would also make sure the workplace and kennels were clean at all times.

PetSmart is a very good place for pets, pet parents, and employees. This was my first job so I learned countless skills and gained so much valuable experience. This is the place where I learned about customer service, sales goals, teamwork, pulling my weight with hard work, dedication, and responsibilities. A day in my job consisted of bathing the dogs however the pet parent desired; I'd clean their ears and eyes, clip (or grind) nails, and brush them. I would also help the groomers if they needed me and make sure the salon was clean at all times. I would also recommend services to pet parents based on their pet's breed and needs. If I was available, I would also answer the phones to answer any questions the customer has, book appointments, or direct the call to the salon/store manager. If my work was done in the salon, I would go into the store and assist the salespeople or managers in any way they may need.
