Example results: decreased median PICU transfer time by 49 minutes; increased Transitional Care Unit average discharge by noon rates by 10 percentage points.- Coached Directors and Frontline Leaders on A3 thinking, improvement approaches & processes, frontline staff engagement in improvement work, data analysis, and aligning unit goals to organizational True North.

World Class Hospital & Transformation Strategic Projects- Executed strategic priorities on behalf of the SVP of Hospital and Health Plan Area Operations, including the testing of an inpatient scheduling system, optimization of a business performance review tool, and the development of an electronic medical record (EMR)-based tool to facilitate centralized inpatient transport.- Managed a team of 4 consultants to analyze, design and execute on access, service and quality improvements in the outpatient behavioral health delivery system across the Northern and Southern California regions.- Selected to participate on first regional Transformation Team with high performing leaders, to evaluate, test, and recommend innovative solutions to key organizational challenges.- Leveraged process and value stream mapping techniques to evaluate staffing workflows; resulted in a business case to implement a new staffing technology solution with a 5-year net present value of $9.4M.- Engineered a spread strategy to roll out a hospital-acquired pneumonia prevention initiative to reduce the incidence of HAP across 21 hospitals in Northern California; reduced rate of HAP from 6.5 to 5.9 per 1,000 admissions within 6 months of spread, preventing 128 cases and saving 23 patient lives.- Executed launch of mass alerting system within all hospital staffing offices across NCAL to improve staffing efficiency; over 400,000 alerts sent in the first 6 months of use.Internal Team Development - Co-developed an Innovation Offsite for the Performance Excellence team to build knowledge, skills and provide time to practice key elements of the human-centered design methodology.- Trained and coached regional employees on video storytelling and ethnography methods to capture the voice of the customer.- Coached staff and interns, including written and verbal delivery of performance evaluations.
