Worked on various modernization, repair, and service teams within the elevator industry. This consisted initially as part-time work, then progressed to full-time roles and responsibilities. It was the elevator industry that introduced me to electronics, automation, relay logic, signal flow, sequence of operations, and the art of troubleshooting. I was also introduced to and started developing an understanding of the challenges associated with communication to/from field based personnel.
