About Kellye S.

As a Veteran and the wife of an active duty Army Officer, I have spent decades understanding the importance of flexibility. I left the air traffic control field to pursue opportunities available in whatever city we were stationed in and ultimately landed in the live music touring/production. The music industry, in many ways, is similar to air traffic control: all pieces of the puzzle must fall in line for a successful day. It is the multi-tasking, planning multiple steps ahead, and always being ready to pivot that make my current job so exciting. I am a minority woman in a field dominated by men and that often means I have to work harder, faster, and be very confident in the words I say. I think it makes me a highly knowledgeable member of my team.I started out as a volunteer in my current job and have grown to the position I hold today. In my continued efforts to look for growth opportunities, I have been fortunate to become a part of the White House Executive Office of the President: Advance Team. This highly organized team is responsible for advancing the many logistical components of a trip, both domestic and international, made by the President of the United States.I believe my skillset is best showcased in advance and travel logistics: Arriving ahead of time to ensure transportation needs are met, Coordinating with a hotel's VIP liaison to ensure rooms and hotel riders are ready for the VIP/Client arrival, planning for any meeting room space, walking through any scheduled itinerary items in order to brief the VIP/Client of their expected movements are important aspects to a successful day/trip.
