My quest to develop computer technology that supports decision-making and problem-solving began while completing the early work of my Ph.D. dissertation. I had been nurturing an interest in policy-making and realized that it was complimentary to my background in computer science. Since then, I completed my dissertation on rational aggregation of diverging perspectives and have continued developing systems that people will use to make decisions and solve complex problems. My work integrates crowdsourcing, human computation, social choice, and cognitive reasoning. These endeavors have been supported by government applied research grants. I have also been esteemed as a foremost expert on the topic of collective problem solving. Throughout my career I have developed several prototypes demonstrating these ideas, each iteratively more sophisticated and consumer-ready than the last. In the process, I have gained extensive experience developing software on different platforms, including web-based and mobile apps.
