About Kyle Sheldon, Mba
I have spent the majority of my career in energy, both domestic and international. Working for manufacturers, rental companies, and service companies, the one common thread despite geographic location has been the importance of people. In 2021, I made the jump into Tech space working to help reduce driver distraction behind the wheel desiring a more direct impact. As all chapters come to an end, I was blessed to venture into the world of nonprofits opportunities to serve my community working for the chamber of commerce and office of economic development. My career has been an adventure every step of the way, and the people always make it worthwhile. Now things have come full circle. I am back in the energy space working with chambers and economic development organizations across the globeIn my spare time, which is very limited these days, I enjoy spending time with my family, hunting, competing in sports, and spending time outdoors. My wife, who is much smarter than I, is a family nurse practitioner with her DNP from Johns Hopkins. We have been married since 2008. I completed my EMBA in Dec. 2019 focused Business/Energy at the University of Oklahoma, Boomer Sooner!!!I have had lots of people ask about the picture in my header, that is a picture of the Texas Racks and Quacks hunting lodge just an hour outside Houston. We breed trophy whitetail deer on 1000 acres of high fenced property. If ever interested let me know since we do sell a limited number of hunts. If you have any questions about that, by all means, ask! I could talk about the outdoors all day every day!Don't hesitate to reach out: ksheldon@chambersforinnovation.com or my cell number is 832-714-1946

Homeschool Teacher And Husband To A Frontline Healthcare Provider
In efforts to provide a bit of levity during the craziness my latest venture was into the world of unknown. My greatest pleasure in my temporary new role as Kindergarten homeschool teacher is that my wife, Kristen, a family nurse practitioner with her DNP from Johns Hopkins, is shining in her efforts during this pandemic. My new role is providing her with the comfort, space, time and psychological safety to work during this pandemic while I’m helping my children discover new things and they’re helping me see a new side of myself as I empathize with her and also with these two littles that we’ve been entrusted to love and raise. I’ve been told that my greatest strengths are developing solutions for diverse businesses facing technical and intellectual problems. My expertise is in complex problem solving for the advancement of business development -- I'm able to quickly use logic and reason, thinking independently and presenting relevant options and alternatives. I have also learned that training/coaching sales professionals is much easier than the kindergarten curriculum. As you can imagine, one thing I value is a good challenge and this pandemic brought one for all of us. My new professional development goal in this “surprise” homeschooling endeavor with two littles is calling on other cognitive and relational tools in my arsenal. I want my young children to grow into smart, independent and honest adults but at their age it is hard to convey those values so … I'm exercising my emotional intelligence more frequently and learning that emotional expression in personal terms with my children, is opening doors of opportunity that I don't often find in the workplace. Whether that’s being raided by my kids while behind a locked door or learning to crawl into the house through a window after being locked out. Personal growth is all what you make of your situation.
Sales Director/Partner
Helping companies with tactical integration of culture into all aspects of your sourcing, sales, and marketing needs.Process reformation and defining responsibilities. Team assessment - Making sure the right people are on the team and in the right positions.Software Tool implementation and customization.
Head Of Sales & Operations - Western Hemisphere
The latest update to my role came during a bit of a reorganization. We globalized the marketing efforts and moved those efforts in house in Gibraltar to redirect focus of senior management in the regions. We stuck with Eastern and Western hemispheres as the division, but shifted sales and operations to a central point of contact for each region. It has been an exciting and very interesting challenge wearing both the sales and operations 'hats' if you will. I have learned a tremendous amount and have new found respect for both sides of the table. Working in the US (Midland, OKC, Denver, etc), Trinidad, Guyana, Mexico, Brazil, and others, the one constant has been that change is inevitable. This is an ever evolving position, that no 2 days are just alike.
Head Of Sales And Marketing - Western Hemisphere
With my role continuing to evolve, I was also given marketing responsibility for the region. We shifted some focus to advertising through the proper channels, making sure to have presence at trade shows, participating in local career fairs, and doing what we could to further the brand recognition.
Business Development Manager - Western Hemisphere
Piggybacking on our success in the North American market coupled with the down turn, my role continued to evolve into responsibilities spanning the Western Hemisphere. Rather than a single office servicing North America, I now had regional responsibility to 6 offices.
Business Development Manager - North America
Having been in the marketplace for several years, majority of the work handled in the US was overflow manufacturing work from international clients. I was brought in and tasked with changing that. My goal was to build a team and develop the local landscape to give us a more viable domestic presence. The team we put together, was successful in achieving our goals.
Sales Manager - Western Hemisphere (Redback Drilling Tools Division)
Here I was responsible for all sales related functions for facets of the Western Hemisphere. I was calling on operators and oil companies to talk about down hole stabilization. Our focus was to offer products to help drill faster/safer all while cutting cost and minimizing downhole risk due to vibrations.
Inside Sales (Grant Prideco)
I was originally managing our Canadian customers ($175 million booked since 2008) until we had sales support in the field. I was then tasked with managing some of our alliance/key accounts with new build business both domestic and international ($75 million booked since 2010). That entailed things like alliance account pricing management on a quarterly basis, issuing of quotes per pricing agreements, and managing preproduction meetings for orders placed. I was also responsible for creating the reports used to run our weekly sales meetings for the Western Hemisphere.
Sales Analyst & Abo Liaison
In this role my responsibilities included supporting the sales team daily activities, reporting on KPI's to help show market diversification, maintaining/growing the relationship with the American Board of Optometry (ABO), finding ways to help our team get published/certified by ABO in order to teach Continuing Education Courses (CEC's), and helping schedule CEC's for our clients.
Customer Information And Pricing Specialist
My responsibilities included managing pricing for Essilor customers, issuing new quotations for new potential customers, working with our sales team to provide relevant data on customer trends/habits, and helping track payments and financial data for customers.
Assistant Manager
Responsible for all store functions (Inventory, accounting, scheduling, staffing, and other store operations). Responsible for 20-25 employees at any given time. As an assistant mgr, I only worked 1 day a week with the manager, otherwise I was functioning as the manager on duty.
New Student Orientation Director/Steering Committee
Part of the student lead team in charge of creating and implementing programs and activities to help students familiarize themselves with the school and the city of Abilene. We worked hand in hand with school administration and locations across the city to provide students with a fun first week in Abilene.
