• Evaluated Kinetix (UFM and Planar3D) by comparing them against analytical solution and Abaqus.• Designed various test cases for the evaluation and proposed workflows based on obtained results.• Designed workflow for well interaction problems and developed Python tool to couple reservoir simulator with fracturing simulator.• Developed Python tool to generate heat map for processing multi-cluster/multi-stage results.• Investigated the effect of well interaction on fracture asymmetry and proposed mitigation strategies.

 Developed a multiphase, two-dimensional, fully coupled, finite volume method-based fluid flow simulator to model leak-off of fracturing fluid into bedding planes. Coupled the developed object-oriented code with extended finite element geomechanics model to investigate the impact of bed boundaries on hydraulic fracture height growth.

 Investigated the optimum well spacing for unconventional reservoirs using field data set of multiple wells in the Wolfcamp formation in the Midland basin through fracture modeling (Kinetix Shale and MultiFrac-NF) and reservoir simulation. Investigated the differences in simulation results obtained from multiple fracture modeling software.

• Developed simulation model of retrofitted Butene-1 plant for Hexene-1 production.• Conducted simulation study for using stripper column in series with benzene column in revamp load conditions – Benzene Unit, Vadodara.• Performed de-bottle necking study using simulation model of the BTX column train, Para-xylene plant.• Validated simulation model and performed feed location optimization for Dehydration column in PTA plant.• Developed model of purification columns, VCM plant, in Aspen Plus and ROMeo.

• Automated Production Accounting System in VCM plant. • Analyzed frequent Loop Seal Failure in Vent Scrubber header of VCM plant and proposed solution. • Conducted study on Free Chlorine Reduction in Incinerator vent gas of VCM plant.

 Developed simulator of a Proton Exchange Membrane fuel cell in C++ to study its complex behavior involving heat generation, mass transfer, and chemical reactions during fuel cell’s operation.
