I was born in Indiana, in a family of doctors and nurses, who were surprised by my passion for art and, in particular, my interest in graphic novels.This led me, in 2008, to become a student at Savannah College of Art and Design, Majoring in Sequential Art. Here, I developed a range of skills and learned more about the different professions involved in producing graphic novels. From taking a digital coloring class, I found that, as well as having a natural ability for color theory, I loved working digitally.So it was a natural progression when, in winter 2012, I interned with Hilary Sycamore, a leading colorist, whose clients include DC Comics and First Second Books. Here, I gained in-depth knowledge of the comics industry, and how artists and editors work together to create graphic novels. I learned more about photoshop and became very interested in the psychology of color and how it can affect people through mood and perception.On leaving college, I hopes to pursue the endless possibilities of color, working in the world of graphic novels. My other loves include dogs, drawing and watching foreign movies and TV shows. I love working with children, and have a special appreciation of their point-of-view, being a child at heart myself.I also do Illustration. ~Kathryn A Silver
