In late 2019, it began a direct to consumer pivot.In mid 2021, Apto re-branded and restructured to become the global app-based community that it is today, testing its early access versions on Google Play and iOS for its first major launch in 2022.

• Assist with maintenance of legacy Ruby on Rails and Adobe Flex applications and domain knowledge and development of newer products in JavaScript. • Provide consulting services through Rosetta Stone to international third-party corporations with distribution and source-code rights to the Rosetta Stone product set.

• Maintain and develop new features in large Java-based server application with mixture of legacy JSP/Servlet and newer Spring WebMVC with JavaScript.• Mentor junior developers and ensure that the company is making appropriate technology decisions and coordinating deployments with IT/Systems organizations.• Develop and maintain internal tools with NodeJS, Electron, and React• Prototyped and assisted in the release-ready development of the ICD-10 compatible Charge Capture product. This involved working closely with Intelligent Medical Objects, Inc. to integrate with their web services to create a simple, fast search interface for physicians and billers, as well as regular demos with physicians and various hospital staff to incorporate feedback. • Initiated a DevOps organization and processes providing interaction and automation between the development and IT/Systems organizations within the company prior to handing ownership over to the newly appointed CTO.• Initiated a transition from legacy deployment model to private cloud using Docker for newer products, involving input from IT, Customer Support, Development, and external users. This involved scoping systems and support requirements as well as identifying licensing and pricing models.

• Assisted in design and development of the Version 3 product (written in Flex) while also performing maintenance on the Version 2 product (written in Director using Lingo). • Designed and implemented SCORM/AICC interface for Version 3 product.• Worked closely with Adobe’s Live Cycle Collaborative Services team to prototype and develop collaborative games and a web-based classroom environment for language instruction using Flex and Ruby on Rails. • Prototyped, designed, and managed the development of the Version 4 product built with Flex and AIR by a 12 person team (combined development and QA) on an accelerated timeline, successfully meeting the release date. • Led the design and development of Rosetta Stone's first iPad application porting the Version 4 application to native Objective-C. • Prototyped and productized an iPad version of the live classroom environment (Studio) using Adobe AIR and Ruby on Rails.

Developed a comprehensive automated test suite for an email encryption gateway system utilizing object oriented Perl, database driven WinRunner test cases, Expect, and OpenSSL.

Responsible for AutoCAD drafting work and network design and implementation at a small structural engineering firm.
