Kumar Subramanian is a Director of Software Engineering at Capital One. He possess expertise in ethernet, vxworks, software development, embedded systems, internet protocol suite and 12 more skills. Colleagues describe him as "Kumar was Senior Technical Leader in my group at Cisco working on Nexus 5k product. As a young engineer I wondered how does one grow into a position of technical leader and I found the answers in Kumar. The first aspect is precision. In all his work Kumar was precise about what he was doing and his understanding of the code, lower layer API, system behavior, upcoming features and design changes was in word "precise". And the method to this was of course he carefully studied and researched the code, documentations and followed the email and non-email discussions. The second aspect is knowledge. He has a wealth of knowledge about networking systems, network protocols, and system software, which he has acquired the course of his glorious career and having worked in diverse areas in broad area of systems and networking. Finally the last aspect is mentorship. Kumar looked after me, answered all my silly questions about developing a technical career, and ins and outs of the product we were working on. It was great to be a part of the same team as Kumar, and he inspired me. "
