About Me:A city girl with Midwest roots and East coast influence, I spent a decade with Marriott Hotels until I was bit by the “nonprofit bug” that launched a twenty-plus year career serving mission-driven organizations in a variety of fundraising, alumni and member relations, operations and events management roles. With this service mindset, I started a social enterprise to support women rebuilding their lives through the making of furniture and home décor using reclaimed wood and materials. I am a graduate and former board member of the BUILD Institute and currently serve my alma mater, Central College in Pella, Iowa, on its National Advisory Council. My love for old buildings led me to the historic Detroit loft I call home where I also serve as Treasurer for its homeowners' association.Outside of my career, my true passion is travel and exploration (I love it when I can combine work and travel!).
