I'm from Houston TX and moved up north to Minneapolis-St. Paul to attend the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts in December 2016. Since then, I have worked in a wide range of industries including pharmacy, art handling, customer service, arts administration, non-profit programming, social media/marketing, and education. I am currently based in St. Paul, MN, often traveling between here, Houston, and Northern Norway, where my last name comes from. I am trilingual and enjoy learning new things. I am an avid reader and a self-help nerd, and I love to spend time outside in nature. My artistic practice is centered around making visual and material parallels between the human body and the earth-body that we live on, in hopes that we can better see ourselves as a part of this planet, and the planet as a part of us.I am passionate about breaking down barriers in the arts to open up access to opportunities for emerging artists incl. grants, residencies, and exhibitions. I assist artists and creatives of all types with creating a solid resume/CV, finding & applying to relevant opportunities, website creation/maintenance, and photo/video documentation. I assist with grant writing and editing and offer consultation services for individual artists as well as arts organizations. This includes but is not limited to sourcing materials for artists, helping artists create and document artwork, transportation, note-taking during meetings, building any necessary structures (e.g. a kitchenette, a work table or bench, a ramp, etc.), communications, translation, cooking, and cleaning. I collect promotional information and materials from all producers of upcoming events in our theater to publish on our website, Eventbrite, local events calendars and select social media platforms. I design and distribute our monthly press releases, and also update monthly our theater calendar, and menu cover for the bar and restaurant. I frequently use Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and InDesign), Canva, Google Workspace, Eventbrite (+Marketing tools), Squarespace, Instagram (+Insights), and Facebook (+Meta Business Suite). In addition to these duties, as the Box Office Manager, I create the schedule for a small team of 3-5 employees and perform hiring duties.
