I believe it's key to identify myself as an immigrant in Canada, considering much of my background has largely shaped my unique perspectives and approach to work/life. I have a first-hand appreciation for the feeling of financial and food insecurity, lack of opportunity, and the swift need to go above and beyond when an opportunity 𝘥𝘰𝘦𝘴 present itself.Through this, I've prided myself on being diligent, empathetic, and most of all, resilient. Translating these traits and my background into a career of project and product management has been rewarding. With a strategic approach to [servant] leadership and managing resources and a customer experience mindset in working with people, I'm able to achieve positive outcomes against less than favourable conditions. Life has made me grasp at opportunities and take chances, risky or not. Even with high risk, I remain strategic when planning and executing projects (CliftonStrengths lists 6 out of my top 10 strengths in the "Strategic" Column, including my top 5). Essential training in Agile and Lean Methodologies also assists in guiding me to make effective decisions. Abraham Lincoln is quoted as saying, "Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe.” I'm a firm believer in planning properly to execute effectively. Among my skills are:✤ Project Management - I've executed on high capital projects and subsequently been congratulated by managers. I have also planned and acquired resources for the development of a farm and the publishing of a short book for a business owner.✤ Stakeholder (People and Employee) Relationships - I generally stay diplomatic and in everyone's good favour, even when I'm arguing.✤ Effective Written and Verbal Communication - Studies in Academic Writing and 50+ daily work emails and phone calls keep me sharp. ✤ Customer Service - I've delivered customer service in various roles, but I once worked part-time at a health facility where I had to schedule PSWs and nurses for seniors and persons with disabilities. Many of them were very irate and frustrated. I kept my cool the entire time and provided an above-average customer experience. It's not all business though. Behind this profile is a human, and he enjoys working out, hiking, reading, going down Wikipedia spirals, people-watching on the treadmill, and laughing at his own jokes.I made the trek to Canada in 2019, and it has been a really interesting journey. My background had fully prepared me.
