Calcium Sulphonate Unit (Feb 2018 - May 2020)- Implemented 2-tier reaction rate to enable proper distribution of heat transfer load at different viscosity throughout the reaction. Modification decreased reaction time, leading to improved asset utilization and a NPV of US$240k.- Improved reactor pumpout rate using nitrogen pressurization. Process change improved asset utilization, generating a NPV of US$200k.- Performed scoping and feasibility study for cooling water basin chemical dosing system upgrade.- Introduced a robust methanol-water distillation control, capable of handling varying feed composition. Improved production capacity by 0.5%.- Revamped the tuning parameters of chilled water PID controller to allow for smooth regulation of reactor's temperature. Increased production rate by 0.6% and also improved mechanical reliability of refrigeration system.- Performed alternating role of scribe and process engineer for a 2 months HAZOP.- Reinforced hydrogen sulfide management by placing detectors at strategic locations, setting interlocks for safe park and upgrading of existing scrubber. Viscosity Modifier Unit (Aug 2017 - Feb 2018)- Increased production rate of a make-to-order grade by 12% by optimizing dissolution duration.- Restructured Process Control Standard document to improve readability.- Standardized tracking of process delay across different Viscosity Modifier grades.- Coordinated between procurement, mechanical and operation for a shredder modification project.

Attached to Singapore Olefin Plant- Revamped Key Energy Variable (KEV) target for Primary Fractionator useful heat recovery. KEV drives improvement in heat recovery, with potential energy saving of US$1.3M a year.- Performed process capability (cpk) analysis on products, identifying opportunities for profit optimization.- Carried out scoping and and raised MOC for an utility station extension project, mitigating a safety risk.- Automated the Daily Shift Report, improving convenience when generating the report.- Prepared the process monitoring presentation package for C4 unit- Assisted in the cooling water survey
