My hope: be an Instrument of Social Change for the good of this city.We live along side people with disabilities discovering ways to identify and contribute to their unique gifts, develop valued roles in the community. Our aim is to spring people with disabilities out of services into an inclusive community valued role. We do this by building custom networks around an individual based on what their are interested and geared for. My role in all this is to advocate in the business community and level the playing field so that our members can also work in a job where they are contributing value : another normal human experience that for some reason is not expected to happen for someone living with a disability. Think about how many people you know and friends you may have because of your job. That is what I hope to create for the people I work for here at Starfire.I am looking to work with small to mid-sized business owners / directors to find opportunities where value can be added to their business by employing a person with disabilities. Facilitate the relationships between our prototype volunteers and our clients as they developed devices that were not commercially available to those with physical disabilities. Wrote grants to supplement the funding needs of the mission.Systematized the services of the organization in a fashion understandable and presentable to the public.Wrote first public mission, vision, and strategic plan of action for May We Help.
