“Freedom is the greatest power for me as a painter and personality and art is a way to achieve it”.He is not seeking to please his audience and is not afraid to take darker or non-conventional paths both esthetically and thematically. Acknowledging that art does not necessarily have to be beautiful and safe: ‘I feel the freedom to create shocking, uncanny, and dangerous art. I must stay true to myself even if it means putting the spectator in confrontation with content or form, which can be unpleasant and intimidating at times’. The belief, that art is meant to show all aspects of life, makes Mindaugas’ works brutally honest. The viewer is given freedom and a chance to reflect on his own experiences and interpretations. While learning how to paint on his own Mindaugas was never restrained by academic rules and stereotypical restrictions. His process of making art is full of experiments, discoveries, and pure fun. Action painting is natural to the artist and creation can become a personal performance or ritual. You can see and feel the colors and textures raving, dancing, and reflecting the authors' mood, mind, and ideas. The brushstrokes can be savagely fighting each other with contrasting and primal colors. Playful usage of found objects and openness to experiment with any technique or subject matter is pivotal in developing a unique style. As a genuine form of expression, Mindaugas’ aesthetic is unpredictable. You can be taken to a peaceful ocean of light, thrown into the emotional vortex, or find yourself involved in a slightly ironic dialogue with the contemporary world.Mindaugas' work can be found in private collections throughout the world and his studio is located in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, where he owns several innovative start-ups.
