- Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor the assigned engineering projects- Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, policies, performance standards and specifications- Interact daily with the clients to interpret their needs and requirements and represent them in the field- Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel’s performance) and report regularly on project status- Assign responsibilities and mentor project team- Cooperate and communicate effectively with project manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support- Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions

Supervise specified mining • Directs subordinates in the implementation and maintenance of HSE management systems in the Section.• Utilize mining equipment Adherence to mining practices in generation, loading and hauling• Enforce compliance to statutory requirements (Mining Management S.I 109 0f 1990 and Explosives Regulations S.I 72 of 1989), H.S.E procedures, and standards.• Conducts regular pre-shift safety talks or HIRA for every underground mining task.Infrastructural development, replacement and improvement of projects in the section.• Equips new areas for development and production.• Explores virgin areas in compliance to mine geological development plans.• Ensure development of pit and waste dump according to set standardsCompliance to mining statutory regulations, safe work procedures, and code of conduct.• Enforce safe working procedures in areas that have old workings.• Enforce built-up area blasting procedures to prevent adverse effects to the surrounding community.• Make use of waiting places, assembly points, fire points and emergency exit points in all sections.• Enforce use of legal books (safety complains, blasting token).Monitors mining efficiencies in order to minimize production costs.• Monitor drilling and blasting efficiencies daily and achieve at least 1• Work within approved mining costs.

• Supervise all mining activities to ensure that all activities are done in the most cost effective, efficient and safe manner.• Ensure that all company procedures and legislation requirements are implemented and adhered to.• Ensure the safety of all the workers inclusive of contractors within the mine site operations.• Daily production plan for a shift whilst ensuring equipment and resources are adequate.• Work with engineering to ensure equipment maintenance schedules are developed and adhered to. • Ensure adequate bench preparation and drilling in accordance to drilling plan generated from survey.• Work with the safety department to investigate near misses’ and all accidents in compliance to company policy.• Reporting challenges, any breaches of safety and all hazards to the Pit Foreman. • Implement a safety plan and handle emergency safely, quickly and effectively.• Working with employees to handle their personal and work-related issues.• Ensure your team is able to work in a safe environment without additional stress or duress. • Always read, acknowledge and enter instructions for incoming miner in the Communication Book during every shift.• Ensure discipline within the team by taking appropriate measures against indiscipline in accordance to mining regulations and company policy.• Maintain in good order all legal and mandatory documents in good order and updated.
