About Jason Kuhrt
I am developer passionate about system design, developer experience, static typing and functional programming. Educated in design theory, practice, and social responsibility I fell into programming through the portal of open source, Node.js, and GitHub. Over a decade later I have found myself in love with TypeScript and at Prisma leading development on the Prisma Data Platform Control Plane. In my personal life I work on various personal and open source projects but closest to my heart are the backpacking trips I take my two boys on across our beautiful rugged Canadian wilderness! 🏔 🇨🇦

* Built micro-service cloud platform* Designed APIs to interact with cloudBit* Collaborated on cloudBit product development* Maintained service availability* Researched and presented whitepapers on future platform directions* Wrote software specifications* Collaborated with Electrical engineers on protocol design atop TLS* DevOps* Built app for end-user cloudBit setup and testing* Helped grow the team* Built internal tools (cloudBit simulators, API CLIs etc.)* MoreI built of the realtime distributed cloud system at littleBits that powers the cloudBit. The cloudBit was an "Internet of Things" (IoT) product realized as a prized module in the littleBits library. It bridged communication between a user's circuit and the internet. The internet became a physical building block. For a medium otherwise invisible to the senses this bore a potent feeling that we could revolutionize people's relation to connectivity! To realize this platform I built a number of backend services including a TLS Server, an HTTPS API, a Web Socket API. Tools used included Redis and RethinkDB for data/messaging, Elastic Search for log analysis, AWS/GCP for infrastructure, docker/kubernetes for deployment, OAuth 2. I also built the control app where users setup, managed, and interacted with their cloudBit. Furthermore I helped grow the team, researched advanced platform features, made internal CLI tools, weighed in on product decisions, contributed leadership, and more.
