Managed Agile dev teams in Waterfall organization!Supported and coached 20+ developers in my 3 teams to deliver social networking service and instant messaging API products built with C#/.NET technology targeting for more than 300,000 users worldwide. The social networking service was the critical piece which would glue various Thomson Reuters products together and help the company lead the pack in the Web 2.0 era.

Turned an enterprise application into a hosted global service provider solution for 10,000+ users.Led a team of 8 Java developers to transform an code base of an enterprise IM compliance application into a hosted solution of compliance service for Reuters Messaging, a SIP based enterprise IM with more than 100,000 users worldwide. I collaborated extensively with product managers in New York, operation staffs in London and QA team in Bangkok. Started to see that Agile is the answer to the suffering, I co-founded local Agile community, Agile66, to help push Agile adoption in Thailand.

Learned the sad truth about Waterfall through multiple software project management.I simultaneously managed multiple teams on various customer sites in Thailand including Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC), Advanced Info Services (AIS), Bangkok Aviation Fuel Services (BAFS), and UNOCAL. Most of the projects were using J2EE and Oracle and they ranged from small reporting system with a few developers, medium stocking system to the mega-project of core banking migration with more than 10 staffs. This was where I learned that there was a better model to develop and software than the traditional waterfall model and I started to experiment with some aspects of Agile by myself.

The Big 5 Consulting Experience.Provided technical consultant to various high-profile customers throughout Asia Pacific region including Hutchison and DTAC in Thailand, Telecom New Zealand, Telstar in Australia.The nature of the projects were varied from small custom application to enterprise EAI and Content Management integration. In addition to technical consultant, I was also the key member of the business consultant team to provide strategic business process improvement to a leading telco customer as well. This was where I grew my consultant and communication skill by working in various teams, projects, environments and cultures.

The idea of having to use "English" to help customers to solve complex enterprise system problem "over the phone" had scared me at first but I was also the best chance to prove myself. I did it well and did like it. However, the passion of coding still lured me to pursue software developer career.
