I am a dedicated Chabad Shliach, community builder, and educator with a mission to foster inclusivity, unity, and personal growth. As a biracial Rabbi—born to a Jewish mother and an African American father—my lived experience informs my approach to bridging divides and creating spaces where people from all backgrounds feel valued, supported, and inspired. The Rebbe has been a profound personal inspiration in shaping who I am today, and I draw on his teachings and values in my advocacy for unity, inclusion, and meaningful change. I believe every individual is a precious diamond, deserving of care, recognition, and respect.As Executive Director of Chabad Chevra at the University of Hartford (2003–Present), I’ve built, together with my wife, Dalia, a vibrant “home away from home” for students. Through Shabbat dinners, learning sessions, and community events, Chabad Chevra offers students a place to explore their Jewish identity, engage in meaningful discussions, and develop leadership skills. We help students grow personally, build meaningful connections, and foster lifelong friendships that extend well beyond graduation.Since 2022, Dalia and I have also served as Chabad Chaplains at the University of Hartford, collaborating with the Office of Student Engagement on Cultural Diversity & Belonging initiatives that emphasize mental well-being, interfaith dialogue, and community-building.In 2023, I became a Chaplain with the Hartford Police Department, providing spiritual guidance, emotional support, and crisis intervention to officers as they navigate professional and personal challenges. As a Chaplain at the Connecticut Department of Corrections (2022–Present), I offer trauma-informed care and personalized counseling to incarcerated individuals and staff, focusing on healing, personal growth, and fostering connections across diverse communities.I founded Chabad Chevra to nurture Jewish life and create a welcoming space for thousands of students. Previously, I directed Camp Gan Israel of Greater Hartford for 13 years, helping shape Jewish identities and strengthen family connections. These experiences allowed me to develop a compassionate, multifaceted approach to chaplaincy, supporting officers, students, and staff through personal transformation and emotional challenges.Beyond my professional roles, I pursue personal growth through CrossFit, MMA, and weightlifting—activities that connect me with diverse communities and deepen my empathy.Let’s connect and explore ways to build unity, belonging, and positive change in our communities.
